This little 6" mohair bear has wandered into the woods via this wooden cupboard. Distressed black walnut center section opens to reveal a woodland scene with vintage wall pocket clock and hanging weights. Drawer opens to tuck in other treasures.

Grey mohair elephant wears vintage 1920's rompers buttoned at the ankle with white collar and the most adorable animal printed handkerchief tied around his neck. Old hat and his, must - have, felted elephant buddy rides along with him.

Sometimes vintage pieces dictate the direction the accompanying bear must take.
I fell in love with this quirky toy and had so much fun adding to it- the books and nightstand, lamp and Art and of course Dottie Dot in her red polka dot vintage dress, big glasses and hair bow.
The bed folds down like a Murphy bed and I replaced the cardboard mattress with one of pillow ticking. Center section revolves to reveal bathroom sink and the end cupboard folds down to become a desk.

"Lady Esther Emu"

Such a lady with her lapel pin purse holder for her antique leather purse with chain handle, lace hanky and beautifully embroidered hat with ribbon accent and antique pince nez glass. For without ears how does an emu hold them on!
Made of three qualities of mohair and Tissavel, Lady Esther has a jointed head, wings and legs and her neck is wired to pose. Large 22mm glass eyes lend such expression.

ABOUT ME
Cindy McGuire China Cupboard Bears grew out of my love of Antique dolls and Costuming and was a natural extension of my background in Fashion Design. I am constantly amazed at how my skills from my variety of jobs have contributed to what I do. From my first job sewing clothes for dogs to my years as a Florist, stint in the Bridal Market, three years as a Mascot Costume Designer and 30 plus years as a Mother of 4 which taught me Time Management!

Started in the late 1980's when my doll collection outgrew the house I started to do doll shows to weed out my collection and find new things. When I ran out of antique dolls to re-sell I started to make stuffed dolls and teddy bears. The bears started to sell and a business was born.

Who knew it would be so rewarding and take me all over the United States, Europe and Japan and find that so many people speak "BEAR"!. How rewarding to continue to be creative , my ultimate goal. What an extraordinary number of wonderful people I have met over the years, collectors, fellow artists and business folk.

After 30 plus years I am still striving to offer the unexpected. Sweet loveable faces, wonderful fabrics and trim, interesting antiques or vintage additions, all with a sense of humor to hopefully make you smile. Thank you for checking out my website and I hope I can continue to delight you!

PAYMENT, SHIPPING & REFUND INFO

Payment by PayPal preferred. It's the safest, fastest easiest way to pay for you items and you don't have to have a PayPal account to pay! To arrange for an alternative payment option please email me at chinacupboardbears@hotmail.com I will be in touch asap.

***Shipping in the US is free. International orders will be based on USPO rates by address. Items will be shipped Monday via FedEx, UPS or Priority Mail (whichever is best suited for the piece), and will be insured. Custom fees are the responsibility of the buyer. To keep your costs low I ship items in the smallest box possible and using recycled materials such as bubble wrap or crumbled paper for padding, to reduce weight. This also keeps my business "green"!!
Refunds will be given if you are not completely happy with the item you purchased. You must contact me within 48 hours of receipt and ship item back promptly in original packaging and in original, new condition. Refund less shipping expenses will be made once item is received.
