US Beth Savino, Co- Owner of The Toy Store – Collectors Gallery of Toledo, Ohio. A former Teacher for 10 years, she joined her family business, Hobby Center Toys/The Toy Store in 1976. An ardent collector of many things she quickly became interested in the collectability of Dolls, Teddy Bears, Nostalgic Toys, and,Steiff. As a Buyer and Promotions Director she was actively involved with the inception of the International Doll Show and Tribute to Teddies begun by Hobby Center Toys/The Toy Store in 1979. Her interest in collecting Gollys led to her involvement in the formation of the International Golliwogg Collectors Club and GolliFest. She was the Editor of “Collectors Life” for 24 years, Author of many magazine articles and is listed as an Expert Teddy Bear and Steiff Appraiser by The Library of Congress, Kovel Antiques, and Maloneys Guide to Collecting. She and her husband Ben have traveled selling Teddy Bears in the US, Japan, Germany, Singapore, and England. Ben Savino, co-owner of The Toy Store - Collectors Gallery, Toledo, Ohio. A former Chemical Engineer, he joined the family business, Hobby Center Toys/The Toy Store in 1973 after 10 years in the Engineering field. Always supportive of Beth’s collecting habits, he soon found himself a part of the Doll and Teddy Bear world. As the Teddy Bear world expanded, the business started marketing and selling overseas in Japan and Europe. The Toy Store has exhibited selling to customers at over 20 shows per year in the USA, Japan, Germany, England, and Singapore, meeting and serving many loyal customer and friends around the world.
